Using the Security Table Upsize Genie

Along with the instructor, create the security tables.

Click the button.
When the Web Security window appears, Web Security Configuration is selected by default, so click OK.

In the Security Settings window, click the button to edit this setting:

In the screen that appears, you choose what general file format you want to use for security:

When you click the Use ‘SQL Database’ radio button, as in the example above, the two hyperlinks appear at the bottom of the window. Click each one to see what it displays:

Show SQL Database Information is useful only after you have created the security tables.

Then, click OK.

You return to the Security Settings window, and the new setting for Security Table Type appears:

Click OK in the Security Settings window.

The Web Security Tables Genie begins to guide you through setting up the security tables. In the Step 1 window, define a connection string, as shown here:

When you click the button, follow the usual steps to define a new connection string or choose an existing one. Here is an example:

When you return to the Genie, it displays details about the connection, as shown here:

Click Next.

The Genie’s Step 2 screen appears:

Some of the instructions refer to moving security data from one database system to another. In our case, we are creating a new set of security tables, and we can still accept the defaults.

Click Next.
